What is our ‘toggle’ solution?
When your contract is ‘inside’ IR35, you can ‘rest’ your PSC and work through JSA Umbrella at no extra cost. We’ll help manage your PSC accounts in the background, submitting your payroll (RTI) and VAT returns if necessary. Once your ‘inside’ contract ends, simply contact us and switch back to working through your PSC.
If you’re working on ‘inside’ and ‘outside’ contracts simultaneously, we’ll help you manage your payroll through both PSC and Umbrella, if appropriate.
How is my pay calculated?
When you’re working on an ‘inside’ contract through JSA Umbrella, your payslip from our Umbrella will be addressed to you personally (not your PSC), and the necessary tax deductions (Employment tax & NI) will be automatically taken from your pay.
When switch back to an ‘outside’ contract, your PSC will receive the income from your agency as usual, and you can pay yourself a mixture of salary and dividends.

There is no limit to the number of times you can switch between PSC and Umbrella with JSA, so you can enjoy the flexibility of contracting, maximise your take-home pay through ‘outside’ contracts, and avoid turning down roles due to their IR35 status.
